One-Pot Par Saver Pasta

Creamy Chicken, Broccoli & Bowtie Pasta with Garlic Herb Cheese

Need a reliable dinner that doesn’t feel boring and doesn’t dirty every pan in your kitchen? This creamy chicken and broccoli pasta is a weeknight favorite in our house — and it’s packed with veggies, flavor, and that nostalgic comfort-food energy.

It comes together in one skillet + one pot for the pasta, and the secret weapon? Garlic herb spreadable cheese that melts into the broth and makes a creamy, dreamy sauce without heavy cream.

This is a Par 4 the Fam staple — the kind of dinner that’s perfect after a long day, a golf practice night, or a “what do I even make tonight?” moment.

Ingredients:

(Serves 4–6)

  • 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, diced
  • 1 head broccoli, cut into bite-size florets
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 small green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 small yellow bell pepper, diced
  • 2 chicken bouillon cubes
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 (6.5 oz) package Alouette Garlic & Herb soft spreadable cheese
  • 1 box bowtie pasta (farfalle)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, to taste
  • Olive oil
  • Salt, pepper, garlic powder, to taste

How to Make It:

Step 1: Cook the Chicken
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Sauté the diced chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder until golden and cooked through (about 6–8 minutes).

Step 2: Sauté the Veggies
Add diced onion and bell peppers to the pan. Sauté for about 5 minutes, until softened and fragrant.

Step 3: Make the Broth
In a microwave-safe cup, dissolve 2 bouillon cubes in 2 cups of hot water (about 2 minutes). Stir well and pour into the skillet.

Step 4: Simmer
Reduce the heat to medium-low and let the chicken, peppers, and broth simmer uncovered for 20 minutes, until most of the liquid has reduced.

Step 5: Boil the Pasta
While the skillet simmers, cook your bowtie pasta in salted boiling water according to the package. Drain and set aside.

Step 6: Add the Broccoli
Add the broccoli florets to the skillet, cover, and steam for 5 minutes until bright green and tender.

Step 7: Finish with Cheese
Add the garlic herb cheese to the pan and stir until melted into a creamy sauce. Toss in the cooked pasta and mix well to coat everything evenly.

Why We Love This Recipe:

  • Kid-friendly (easy to hide the veggies )
  • One-pot style = less cleanup
  • Packs protein, fiber, and flavor in every bite
  • Great for meal prep or leftovers

Meal Prep Tip:

Store leftovers in airtight containers for up to 3 days. Add a splash of milk or broth before reheating to keep the sauce creamy.
